Telltale Games has been making a great name for themselves lately. They are the developers behind the episodic games based onย Game of Thrones,ย DCโ€™s Batmanย andย Fables comics, and most famously, AMCโ€™s The Walking Dead. Now the studioย seems to be teasing a new project that is directly related to USAโ€™s critically acclaimed show Mr. Robot, which isย already fiveย episodes into season two.

The show follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek, Until Dawn), who is a cyber security engineer by day, and a cyber-vigilante hacker by night. Elliotย is soon recruited by an underground hacker group in order to take down E Corp- the international,ย evil (hence the ‘E’) corporation that has been drowning the American people in debt as a means to control them.ย Telltale Games teased on Twitter and Facebook today some interesting Mr. Robot related content, which hadย fans of the show speculating and askingย a frenzy of questions. Bothย social media accounts shared an ad for “theย new E Corp Messaging App for your iOS or Android Mobile device”.

It looks like we will be connecting the world sooner than we think. Telltale also stated on their Facebook page that the app will be available come August 17, 2016. There are no further details about what the app will include, but right now it looks as though this is not a full episodic game like we have come to expect from Telltale, but rather a smaller, tie-in mobile game that will not be readily available for consoles or PC.

From looking at Telltale’s previous projects, it seems befitting that they would take on a project aboutย Mr. Robot. This is a studio that has put a strong emphasis on narrative storytelling with solid character depth, and from what we have seen ofย Mr. Robotย thus far, itย is sure to be a good addition to Telltale’sย lineup of games.
