The Unova muscular Pokemon Timburr and its evolutions have officially arrived in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the release of the new Teal Mask DLC. Timburr, Gurdurr, and Conkeldurr are just three of more than 100 Pokemon that were brought back via the recent update. This is the first time the Pokemon’s been made available in a main series game since the removal of the National Dex in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and players are undoubtedly excited to get their hands on the Fighting-type again. This is a guide on how to catch and evolve Timburr in the new Kitakami region of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Catching and Evolving Timburr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Timburr can only be found in the Kitakami region, accessible after obtaining The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players without the DLC cannot catch Timburr but can still add the Pokemon to their game if they can transfer it over from a past game through Pokemon Home.
Timburr can be found in the following locations in Kitakami:
- Apple Hills
- Reveler’s Road
- Mossfell Confluence
- Fellhorn Gorge
- Oni Mountain & Oni’s Maw
- Infernal Pass
- Crystal Pool
- Wistful Fields
- Paradise Barrens
- Kitakami Wilds
Finding Timburr is fairly simple once the player arrives in Kitakami since the Pokemon can be easily encountered by just exploring in nearly any direction. Timburr’s first-stage evolution, Gurdurr, can also be found in a handful of the aforementioned locations (Mossfell Confluence, Paradise Barrens, Fellhorn Gorge). Conkeldurr can only be obtained through evolution or Tera Raids, however.
To evolve Timburr into Gurdurr, the Pokemon only needs to reach Level 25. Every Pokemon found in Kitakami is well over level 25, so a single Rare Candy or some Exp. Candies should do the trick. Once the player has Gurdurr, obtaining Conkeldurr is a little more complicated since the final-stage Pokemon can only be reached with an Evo-Trade. This means Gurdurr will only evolve into Conkeldurr after being traded to another player.

If the player knows at least one other person with Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, then this should be fairly simple. The player doesn’t even need The Teal Mask DLC to trade for Gurdurr. Otherwise, there are a number of forums on the internet, like Reddit and Discord, where Trainers meet up specifically to organize Evo-Trades. These players are generally very helpful, and there are rules put in place by moderators to prevent anyone from running off with a player’s hard-earned and fully evolved Pokemon.
