Anyone who’s played soulslike games knows how essential the currency to level up is. Many players tend to sell whatever they find to obtain more currency and increase their stats. While that is a good idea, Lies of P shakes things up in many ways that even veterans might be caught off guard. If you’re struggling to see what to keep or drop away, we have something for you. Here, we’ll tell you the 5 items you should never sell while playing Lies of P.
Lies of P: 5 Essential Items You Should Never Sell
As mentioned, many things in the game give you a good amount of Ergo, the currency needed to level up and buy certain things. While selling everything might seem tempting, there are 5 items we recommend you never sell while venturing the streets of Krat in Lies of P. So, without further ado, let’s get this list started.
5. Weapons
Weapons are the bread and butter of Lies of P or any game of the genre. While it might be tempting to sell them, we advise against it. The game has an assembly system where players can combine the blades and handles of most weapons to create new ones. Given the number of weapons you’ll get, we recommend keeping them all. You might never use some of the first ones, but maybe you’ll find a blade you’ll like and combine it with an early game handle. The game allows you to make crazy combinations, so hold on to your weaponry until you find your favorite assembly.
4. Throwables
When playing, you’ll quickly realize the danger of status effects, not only for you but for enemies, too. That’s why keeping your throwables in your inventory is so important. The game will put many obstacles in front of you; to get through them, there’s nothing better than the good old grenade to one’s face. Besides, some enemies are susceptible to a particular effect, meaning you’ll need to hold on to all of them until you find an opponent with a specific weakness. Whatever you do, never sell any of your throwable items in Lies of P.
3. Consumables

The above logic applies to this one, too. Consumables are pretty helpful, and while some of us haven’t used them in previous games, having them is crucial to surviving your time at Krat. The game’s final chapters have some dangerous enemies that apply status effects. You’ll die in seconds if you don’t have a consumable to mitigate or eliminate the effect. This can happen in boss fights, too, hence the importance of having Resistance Ampules and other similar consumables with you.
2. Materials
As some of the most expensive items in Lies of P, people will quickly want to sell materials, but you should never do that. Most materials are hard to come by, and even if you sell them for a quick buck, it’ll cost much more when you need one. Plus, most merchants only have a limited stock of these items, meaning finding one is a big feat for anyone in the game. Whatever you do, hold on to your upgrade materials to increase your P-Organ levels, improve your weapons, and add new effects to your Legion Arms.
1. Amulets
Amulets are some of the best items you’ll find in the game. Some provide you with more health, while others increase your damage to certain foes. Given the variety in terms of effects, we recommend always keeping them with you. If you upgrade certain areas of your P-Organ, you’ll be able to equip more than two, letting you create a stronger build for Pinocchio. So, even if selling them seems tempting, don’t do it, as you’ll need most of them for most encounters.

And that’s a wrap on the items you should never sell in Lies of P. If you want to farm Ergo, the best you can do is head to some of the late-game areas to kill enemies. We recommend anywhere after beating Laxasia, as these enemies drop a fair amount of Ergo and aren’t too challenging to beat.
Lies of P is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
