BTS is here to stay. On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the South Korean entertainment company HYBE announced that all seven BTS members have renewed their contracts with the media giant, as well as its subsidiary, BIGHIT MUSIC. The K-pop group has been with the record label since their debut in 2010. Now, as part of their latest agreements, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will remain with their long-time agency “from 2025 onwards.” In their announcement, HYBE confirmed BTS will release new music once several members of the group return from their mandatory military service.

“With the renewal of their contracts, we are looking forward to supporting BTS’ group activities expected in 2025,” HYBE said in a statement, according to a press release. “HYBE and BIGHIT MUSIC will provide all support necessary to continue to expand and elevate BTS’ presence.”

Since June 2022, the BTS members have been on an extended hiatus to focus on their solo careers, as well as fulfill their mandatory military service. In South Korea, all able-bodied men from the ages of 18 to 35 must serve in the military for a period of 18 to 21 months. Two BTS members are currently in the middle of their service. Jin joined the military in December 2022 and J-Hope followed suit in April 2023.

Suga will be the next BTS member to begin his service. On Sept. 18, BIGHIT MUSIC announced on the Weverse app that Suga will officially enlist on Sept. 22. The announcement came weeks after the rapper finished his SUGA | Agust D Tour on Aug. 6. The four-month-long trek was in support of Suga’s debut studio album, D-Day, which dropped on April 21.

Most recently, BTS’ V dropped his own debut studio album, Layover, on Sept. 8. The record debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 following its release.

After a year of solo music from all seven BTS members, fans will finally get to hear new music from the entire group when they reunite in 2025.
