With the Ahsoka series reaching the finish line, fans wonder if Ahsoka season 2 is on the horizon. The Star Wars spin-off series began airing in August 2023, leaving viewers glued to their screens. So far, seven out of eight episodes have been released. However, there is no slowing down, as there is only an hour’s worth of content remaining for season 1. Given the Disney+ series’ success, one can easily see why fans anticipate an Ahsoka season 2 release date. However, the question remains, “Will Ahsoka have a season 2?” Here’s all the information you need.

Will There Be Ahsoka Season 2?

So far, there is no official announcement for Ahsoka Season 2. It is also important to note that a potential Ahsoka season 2 release date is not a given as Disney already described the show as a “miniseries.” In addition, renewing the show for a new season will largely depend on the success of the Mandalorian. This is not surprising given that the Ahsoka series’ story ties in with the timelines of many characters featured in The Mandalorian.

What Does the Cast Think of a Second Season?

Rosario Dawson previously shared that she is thrilled to reprise her role as Ahsoka if there is an Ahsoka season 2. During an interview with Empire, the actress revealed that although they joked about having a second season, she was manifesting it. Dawson added that she was excited, thrilled, and willing to appear on screen again. A few months later, the 44-year-old reaffirmed her desire to work on a second season. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dawson noted that she hoped fans would love season one and possibly push for a second season.

What Is the Ahsoka Series All About?

The series is set years after the events of the 1983 film Return of the Jedi. It follows the Clone Wars veteran and former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy. The threat is believed to be connected to Grand Admiral Thrawn, a Chiss tactician who served the Galactic Empire. Thrawn disappeared into the Unknown Regions at the end of the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Ahsoka Tano’s journey brings her into contact with several characters from both the live-action and animated Star Wars universes. These include Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. She will also face off against new enemies, including a mysterious figure known as the Magistrate.
