Is Andrew Garfield in Loki Season 2? Explained

Could a variant of Spider-Man pop up this season?

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to cameo appearances, and fans are starting to believe that one actor might be popping up in Loki season two, Andrew Garfield. He is of course known for his roles in The Social Network and Tick, Tickโ€ฆ Boom!, as well as his role as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man films, and from Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Loki is a Disney Plus series in which the God of Mischief, Loki Laufeyson (Tom Hiddleston) hops around time. At the end of the first season, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) was responsible for ripping apart the multiverse by killing He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). Because of that decision, all sorts of variants could be running around the MCU, especially in Loki. So letโ€™s discuss the possibility that Andrew Garfieldโ€™s Spider-Man is in Loki season two.

Could Andrew Garfieldโ€™s Spider-Man Appear in Loki Season 2?

Andrew Garfield could appear in Lokiโ€™s second season, but it is very unlikely that he will. The fan speculation began with an Instagram post by user Agt Design, which you can see below. The fanmade poster depicts Mobius (Owen Wilson) talking to Andrew Garfieldโ€™s younger Peter Parker in the Time Variance Authority. This isnโ€™t the only fan art that this user has posted for the second season of the MCU series, as he has posted similar posters for Ben Affleckโ€™s Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, and Deadpool. So, just because Garfield was featured in some fan art, that doesnโ€™t mean heโ€™ll be appearing in the show.

Thereโ€™s always the chance that Andrew Garfield or even Tobey Maguire could appear in Loki season two, but it seems unlikely. Especially considering the pair just made their return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so if they were to reappear in Loki it would certainly lessen their impact. It isnโ€™t as if Loki couldnโ€™t contain any cameo appearances. The first season saw the return of Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), as well as multiple Loki variants, and even Throg. Itโ€™s just that Andrew Garfieldโ€™s Spider-Man probably wouldnโ€™t fit in the show, both because heโ€™s high-profile, and because heโ€™s Spider-Man.

So, donโ€™t be surprised if season two of Loki does have some surprise cameo appearances in its six episodes. This way if Andrew Garfieldโ€™s Spider-Man does show up, at least youโ€™ll be surprised. Just make sure you go into the season with your hopes down for any cameo appearances. You wouldnโ€™t want to be disappointed if there arenโ€™t any characters that pop up for 10-second appearances. You can catch Loki season two when it arrives on Disney Plus this Thursday, October 5, 2023.
