DC Comics has revealed that it will publish a newย DC Powerย anthology to celebrate Black History Month next year. This 104-page anthology puts the spotlight on DCโs Black superheroes. An all-star team of DCโs best and brightest Black creators honor the Black superheroes that have made DC what it is today. This yearโs anthology features a newย Far Sectorย story from N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell. Plus, new stories featuring Nubia, Bloodwynd, The Spectre, The Signal, Val-Zod, and more.
DC Power
DC launched its DC Power one-shot earlier this year as part of the Dawn of DC initiative to celebrate Black History Month. The special series came off the success of other anthologies like DC Pride and DC Festival of Heroes. DC Power: A Celebration featured prominent Black characters like Cyborg, Aqualad, Vixen, and more. It also featured an all-Black creative team or artists and writers.
DC Power 2023 proved very successful. In fact, it ended up receiving a ton of acclaim and even nabbed a second printing. It makes sense that DC would continue the tradition and honor even more Black heroes and creators.
New Year, New Stories
Now, DC is continuing the series with DC Power 2024. This year, the Hugo award-winning team of N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell bring a new Far Sector story. This will serve as an epilogue to their original Young Animal series. It chronicles the first meeting between Far Sectorโs Green Lantern, Sojourner โJoโ Mullein, and John Stewart.

The anthology features a card stock main cover from Chase Conley. However, there will be several variants from the likes of Jamal Campbell and Denys Cowan. It is planned to release on January 30 2024, just in time for Black History Month.
