Marko’s Memories are one of many collectible sets in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Marko’s Memories are introduced pretty early in the game, with the first memory being a mandatory find during the opening fight against Sandman in Spider-Man 2. Aside from that memory, there are thirteen other memories to find. Each memory takes the form of a large, glowing orange sand crystal, which you have to find and crack open to get the memory inside. With each memory, Flint Marko’s mental state improves.

There are fourteen of Marko’s memories scattered around the boroughs of New York City. However, only twelve of these will initially show up on the map, since you’ve already discovered the first and the last is a secret. Each crystal can be identified by the large sandstorm that’s brewing around it.

You can find Marko’s Memories while playing as Miles or Peter without it affecting gameplay. No matter which Spider-Man you play, each sand crystal will be guarded by a horde of mini-Sandmen. Miles’ Venom-based abilities can take them out pretty easily, while Peter has the opportunity to create a water-based environmental hazard. The memories can be found in any order, but we’ve put them in order of the story that unfolds as you discover Marko’s past.

After you’ve collected thirteen of Marko’s memories, your Spider-Man will mention that he should check the site of the original sand crystal. A brand-new memory will appear on your map, near the original Sandman attack. Go to the location and you’ll find one last memory in a destroyed lot near a broken concrete pillar. There are no sand minions guarding this one, so you’re free to break it and get the memory inside.

Once you break the memory, however, you’ll find yourself inside a weird sand dimension with a glittering ball of light. This is Sandman’s mind, and you need to follow the glittering light to find the actual last memory. Follow it by using L2 + R2 to zip between perch points.

Eventually, the light will lead you to a massive crystal and disappear inside of it. To break the giant crystal and get the memory, you need to throw the nearby rocks at it using L1 + R1. Watch out, though – with every hit, a new wave of Sandman’s minions will pop up to defend the crystal.

After the giant crystal is shattered, collect the final memory, “Together Again.” You’ll be transported back to the real world, and when you are, MJ will call you. One short conversation with Sandman later, you’ll be given a quest marker in northwest Queens leading you to Sandman’s daughter. Follow it, and you’ll find a cute house in a quiet residential neighborhood.

Interact with the door and a short cutscene will play. Once the cutscene ends, you’ll have officially collected all of Marko’s memories, finished the “Remember” side quest, and earned the “Grains of Sand” silver trophy for Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently available on PlayStation 5.
