Travis Kelce‘s old resurfaced tweets have put the NFL star at the center of attention amid his relationship with Taylor Swift. Fans recently stumbled on the treasure trove of old posts, which featured Kelce’s enthusiastically wholesome thoughts from over a decade ago. While the tweets are funny and pure joy, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted they make him cringe. In Travis Kelce’s response to the old tweets in a recent interview on his brother’s podcast, the star described the posts as “nonsense.”
Travis Kelce’s Old Tweets Resurface
Kelce’s relationship with Swift is one of the reasons the football player has been in the headlines over the last couple of weeks. But last week, Kelce found himself trending for a new reason. Some of his old tweets from when he was a college student at the University of Cincinnati between 2009 and 2011 resurfaced. The Travis Kelce resurfaced tweets contained information about the star’s favorite snacks, how much he enjoyed a nap, etc. However, what seemed to spark reactions was the numerous typos and misspelled words in the tweets. In one of the hilarious posts shared in April 2011, Kelce misspelled “squirrel.”ย
“I just gave a squirle a piece of bread and it straight smashed all of it!!!” he tweeted at the time.
Kelce also misspelled Chipotle as “chipolte,” prompting a Chipotle location in Kansas City to put up a new sign to align with Kelce’s alternate spelling. The other tweets featured numerous short forms, and one could tell it was from a time when Kelce was very young.
Travis Kelce Addresses the Resurfaced Tweets
Travis Kelce’s resurfaced tweets were enough to add spice to the November 22 episode of his and his brother Jason’s New Heights podcast. In Travis Kelce’s response to the tweets, the 34-year-old admitted the posts were cringeworthy. In fact, he shared that he wanted to delete them before fans dug them up.ย
“I will say that I’ve been trying to get all those tweets deleted. Like since I’ve gotten to the NFL, I’ve been like ‘Gosh I want all those things to get deleted,'” Kelce told his older brother.
Regarding the misspellings, Kelce said he spelled “squirrel” like a jack***. He then revealed that at the time, he used Twitter like a diary, hence the cringe posts.
“This is why I don’t tweet anymore. Because it’s just nonsense,” Kelce noted.
Thankfully, so far, none of Travis Kelce’s resurfaced tweets contain anything incriminating. Hopefully, it stays that way, as fans might do some more digging if Kelce doesn’t delete the old posts.
