Pressing them too fast or too slow and your ride will refuse to take a step. This makes winning the race against Super Mario RPG‘s sunglasses-wearing purple Yoshi a tough challenge. Super Mario RPG: The Easiest Way to Win the Yoshi Race

Winning the Yoshi Race and beating Boshi is actually really easy. All you have to do is alternate between pressing the A and B buttons just as the icons go white. Since Yoshi won’t move if you press the buttons too fast, you don’t want to button mash here. Keep your eyes glued on the buttons on the bottom-right side of your screen and follow the timing.

In case Yoshi having trouble moving every time you press the buttons, try holding the buttons. Then release and press and hold the opposite one when it’s time to switch. Don’t forget that you can feed Yoshi some Cookies to make him run faster. Save them for the last steps of the race to ensure victory in a pinch.
