We know that Fortnite has some rare skins, but there are also very rare Back Blings as well. These Fortnite Back Blings are rare for a number of reasons. Some are no longer available, while others have not been available in the game Item Shop for a very long time. I am almost certain that there are rare Fortnite Back Blings on this list that you have never heard of or seen before, and hopefully, you have at least 1 of these Back Blings in your account.
10. Battle Mask Back Bling
Until November 29, 2023, Widow’s Pack Back Bling was in 10th place. However, on this date, the OG Black Widow was added back to the Item Shop and is no longer as rare as before. Therefore, Battle Mask took its place. This Fortnite Back Bling was added on March 31st, 2019, and was last available for purchase in the Item Shop on December 2nd, 2019. That’s a long, long time in Fortnite terms. This Back Bling came with the Shaman skin worth 1,500 V-Bucks.
9. Response Unit Back Bling
The Response Unit Back Bling was added to the game on March 3rd, 2019, and was removed from the Item Shop at the end of March 4th, never be seen again. This Back Bling was available for 1,200 V-Bucks with the Reflex skin.
8. Vintage Back Bling
The Vintage Back Bling became available as a part of the Buckled Bundle in Season 5 on August 29th, 2018 for 800 V-Bucks in the Item Shop. After being in the Item Shop for about 3 days, Epic Games has not added this Back Bling to the game since 2018. No surprises, then, it is among one of the rarest Back Blings in Fortnite.
7. Slashed Back Bling
Just like Vintage Back Bling, Slashed Back Bling was part of the Buckled Bundle and has never been added to the game since 2018. If you see one of these in the game, show some respect as the player probably knows their stuff.
6. Buckled Back Bling
The Buckled Back Bling is the last piece of the Buckled Bundle and, like the others, has not been available in the Item Shop since 2018. So, if you see any of these three Back Blings on anyone, keep in mind that they’ve been playing the game for a very long time and run.
5. Purple Ghost Portal Back Bling
The Ghost Portal Back Bling was added to Fortnite on October 10th, 2018. People who purchased the Skull Trooper Outfit were able to obtain the Ghost Portal by completing Skull Trooper Challenges. However, to obtain the Purple Ghost Portal, one of the rarest Back Blings in Fortnite, you had to have purchased the first version of the Skull Trooper Outfit. Skull Trooper wasn’t originally supposed to come back to the game, and when it came back for a second time, players were very disappointed. Epic Games then gave Purple Skull Trooper and Purple Ghost Portal to players who had the first version of Skull Trooper Outfit.
4. Royale Shield Back Bling
Royal Shield Back Bling is one of Fortnite‘s oldest cosmetics. It was added as a Battle Pass reward in Season 2 on December 14th, 2017. You could get this Back Bling when you leveled your Battle Pass to Level 21. If I remember correctly, this cosmetic never came back in the game after Chapter 1 Season 2’s Battle Pass. If you have this Back Bling, you can safely flex to other players and they’ll know you’re OG.
3. Catalyst Back Bling
Catalyst is one of Fortnite‘s oldest and therefore rare Back Blings. This cosmetic was added with the Rogue Agent Starter Pack on March 27th, 2018, and it’s safe to say that it’s an OG skin pack. The pack was priced at $4.99 and included the Rogue Agent, Catalyst Back Bling, as well as 600 V-Bucks. The Last time this Back Bling was featured in the Fortnite Item Shop was on June 11th, 2018.
2. Rust Bucket Back Bling
The Rust Bucket Back Bling was added to the game in Season 3 on April 13th, 2018. One of the rarest Back Blings in Fortnite, the Rust Bucket was free in the Item Shop for only 7 days and was never added to the game again. Epic Games added this item to the game as an apology to Fortnite players and gave it away for free due to server outages at the time.
1. Penguin Back Bling
This Back Bling is, in my opinion, the rarest Back Bling in Fortnite. This is because only people in China could get this item. You had to create a Fortnite account through WeGame, a client of sorts from Tencent Games, and then you had to refer a friend. Then you had to play Fortnite for 24 hours and your referral friend had to play for at least 10 hours. After that, you could get the Penguin Back Bling, but since it’s exclusive to China, it’s obviously extremely rare to see this Back Bling on servers outside that region. If you do, take a screenshot!
