Ubisoft’s Frontiers of Pandora Will Have Parts Of The Next Avatar Movie

The upcoming Avatar game from Ubisoft, titled Frontiers of Padora, is based on the detailed world of the Avatar movies. James Cameron’s series is confirmed to be a trilogy, with two movies already being out. The original Avatar from 2009 and the sequel The Way of Water that came out last year. But it seems Ubisoft’s offering isn’t just an inspiration, but a two-way street, and will offer hints of what the third and final Avatar movie could hold.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is a canonical part of the Avatar movie universe. The game takes place in the new Western Frontier, not yet seen in the movies, and all the new additions to the wildlife and plant life are part of the movie lore. According to the creative director of the game, the game is no less a part of the Avatar universe than the movies. That should be very reassuring to Avatar fans.

Ubisoft isn’t going it alone, the Ubisoft-owned studio called Massive Entertainment is working alongside Lightstorm Entertainment, the people who made the movies. Not only will the movies become a part of Frontiers of Pandora, but some parts of Ubisoft’s game are already being discussed for the third and final movie.

I can say that there are going to be some future sequel elements in Frontiers of Pandora that will pay off when the movie comes out, when Avatar 3 comes out in 2025. Careful Avatar fans who have played the game will want to go back and maybe revisit certain things because it will be revealed to them in 2025.

Joshua Izzo, Lightstorm’s Vice President

According to Lightstorm Entertainment, the Na’vi clans in the games could easily be explored further in the final movie. But most importantly, some elements of the game’s creative direction will hint at the final movie and will become a lot more obvious once the movie comes out, which is planned for 2025.

Fans are excited about Frontiers of Pandora, but there is a universal demand for the game to be third-person. The upcoming Avatar game is shown to be first-person only, and it doesn’t seem that Ubisoft plans on changing that anytime soon.
