Every year, Eva Levante sends us some extra special quests designed to teach us how The Dawning works in Destiny 2. This year, one of those quests is Winter Night. There are only two steps to the quest, but each requires you to put in a decent bit of work to complete them. This quest will take us out to all the areas where the wild things are. You must defeat combatants so they will drop snowballs, then use the snowballs to defeat even more enemies. Think you have what it takes to complete the Winter Night, kick some butt in a snowball fight, and bake cookies for Space Grandma?

“It can get cold during the Dawning. Show the enemies of humanity just how cold.” -Eva Levante

For the first step of the Winter Night quest in Destiny 2, you must defeat combatants with snowballs and defeat them with Long Winter and Stay Frosty upgraded snowballs. Also, you’ll need to bake a Classic Butter Cookie for Eva.

You can find snowballs by defeating combatants with weapons, Guardian abilities in free roam locations, or in the Vanguard Ops playlist. Once the snowballs start dropping, it’s time to put our plan into action.

Getting upgraded snowball kills will require you to really stack up some kills with your basic snowballs. Getting those kills will reward you will Essence of Dawning and different cookie ingredients. Using those, complete the Cookie Delivery Helper questline in order to get as much Dawning Spirit as you can get your hands on.

In order to purchase the Stay Frosty upgrade for your snowball, you will need to purchase Long Winter and Longer Winter first. Each of the three upgrades will cost 20 Dawning Spirit each, totaling at 60 Dawning Spirit. Once you have all three, get back out there and get some more snowball final blows to complete this portion of the quest.

Once you get all the kills you need and back Eva her favorite cookies, head back to Space Grandma, or Eva Levante, to complete the quest and get the brand new, chilly Memento.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
