Sister Wives fans have long pointed out the differences in the relationship between Kody Brown and Robyn Brown. His treatment of now ex-wives Christine, Janelle, and Meri has been iffy. To fans, Robyn has seemed to be the favorite for some time. Now, the two are addressing one of those differences head-on.
Kody Brown Was Willing to “Free” Robyn
The latest installment of the Sister Wives: One-on-One special saw Kody Brown talk about a special agreement between him and Robyn. The agreement, when disclosed to the other women, ruffled feathers more than ever before. The question of differences in commitment has been at the heart of many problems in plural marriage.
“Robyn and I made an agreement that if we weren’t in love, that we wouldn’t drag each other out,” Kody explained to host Sukanya Krishnan. “That we would free each other.”
Krishnan asked Kody if he had that “same covenant” with Meri. Not only did he not have one with Meri, but it wasn’t extended to Christine or Janelle either, to their frustration.
“I remember after Robyn and I had that agreement, then I went to the other wives and said I have this agreement with Robyn,” he shared. “They even got frustrated by, like anybody who wants to leave, you’re free to go. And that even made Meri mad.”
Robyn Brown Says She’s Never Considered Leaving Her Marriage and Won’t
Robyn Brown opened up about that agreement with Kody Brown, confirming the terms as he’d laid them out.
The reality star detailed their “agreement.” She says, “If we decide we don’t want to be married anymore, we’re not going to hold each other up.“
The offer has always been there but Robyn has never considered walking away, she claims. Not only is she not giving it thought, but she doesn’t see herself doing so in the future.
“I never thought that I wanted to leave the marriage,” she told PEOPLE. “No. I just know how much I love Kody. I know he is a good guy and he’s doing his best.”
“I can’t imagine any other man being able to go through what he’s going through and still be doing OK, to be going through this much turmoil and stress and heartache and then have it all be on a television show,” she said, commending Kody for weathering his public splits.
“Considering that he’s still in one piece, I feel like that’s a pretty big deal, because I can’t imagine …” she added. “And even, it’s a lot for me, and it’s a different situation for him.”
