This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Indigo Disk DLC doesn’t just add new 9th-generation Pokemon like the Legendary Terapagos. It also reintroduced variations or forms of fan favorites such as the Galarian Slowpoke, which was first introduced in Generation 8. Catching and evolving a Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet into Slowbro or Slowking isn’t hard, all you need are Evolution Items. But you have to know where to locate the lazy Pokemon and how to acquire the items.

To get Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, head to the Coastal Biome of The Indigo Disk DLC. The DLC’s Blueberry Academy has a facility where they make various artificial biomes inside. Go to the Academy and look for the part filled with sand and water. Run around the beach areas and you should find some Galarian Slowpoke at around Level 60 to 70.

While the normal Slowpoke is a Water/Psychic-Type, its Galar variant is a pure Psychic Pokemon. Psychic-Types are weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-Type moves. For that reason, adding your best Heracross, Tyranitar, or Gengar to your party should make sure catching one is smooth sailing.

Just like in the previous game, you will need two items to evolve a Galarian Slowpoke. The Galarica Cuff or the Galarica Wreath.

Thankfully, getting either of them isn’t too hard of an effort. Explore the Coastal Biome and you’ll be bound to find shinies on the ground. Pick them up and there’s a chance you acquire Galarica Twigs, which can be exchanged for the Evolution Items.

To exchange Galarica Twigs, you need to locate the Galarica NPC in the Coastal Plaza. They are standing next to the Plaza’s vending machines. You will need a total of 23 Galarica Twigs if you want to get both Galarian Slowbro and Slowking:

  • Galarica Cuff: Hold Item to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro. Traded for 8 Galarica Twigs.
  • Galarica Wreath: Hold Item to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking. Traded for 15 Galarica Twigs.

With either Evolution Item in your hand, give your Slowpoke the Galarica Cuff or Wreath. Now you can get yourself a Galarian Slowbro or Slowking in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
