This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Classified Information is a side quest that you can obtain early on in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, but you can’t complete it for a while. It requires planetary exploration that only opens up in Act 2 and can be completed as you progress with the main story. Like the Data Altar, it’s easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. Here’s how you complete Classified Information in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader without missing anything important.

Starting Classified Information in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader

To start Classified Information in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, you must wait for Pasqal to alert you to a cogitator that he discovers. The event happens shortly after you recruit Pasqal and fly around for a while. Go to the Koronus Expanse map globe in your voidship. Head east to find IH-630 and a cogitator. Put your hand into it and learn more about two data banks necessary to compile the information.

First Data Bank: Dragonus

Head to Dragonus in the north part of the Koronus Expanse Map. A mission marker will be near the relevant solar system since visiting is part of the main story. Travel to the von Valencius mansion and go to the bedroom. There will be a switch near the bed that reveals an open room. Head to the sofa in the back and select the following options:

  • Have a glass of wine – Pour a glass of “Flame of Purity.”
  • Read a book – Choose “Litanies of the Motive Force.”
  • Change the music – Choose “The Symphony of Honor and Duty.”

This gives you the databank with the von Valencius coat-of-arms. Other options force you to restart from the beginning.

Second Data Bank: Kiava Gamma

Kiava Gamma can be found on the west side of the Koronus Expanse map. The system it is located on has a mission marker since Heinrix asks you to visit the planet. Make your way to the eastern part of the map when you disembark. When you arrive, there is a valve you can pick up for the quest. There’s a nearby computer, and you must perform the following commands:

  • Bring your electoo to the scanner.
  • Place the valve inside the wall slot.
  • Use the revealed terminal to disable the traps.
  • Request Theodora’s data.

With both data banks, return to the cogitator on the voidship bridge to assemble the data. You will learn about the word “Nomos,” and this also triggers extra events as you explore. After reading the data, the quest is officially complete.

For a quick recap about completing the quest:

  • Start by inspecting the cogitator on the voidship bridge after Pasqal notifies you.
  • Head to Dragonus, where the first data bank is found in the von Valencius mansion.
  • Head to Kiava Gamma, where the second data bank is found on the eastern side of the map.
  • Assemble them back at the cogitator on the bridge.
