On Wednesday, December 21, the singer gave her Instagram followers a glimpse of her Christmas decorations by sharing photos of her home adorned with twinkling lights, candles, green tinsel, and an array of ornaments. While most of her ornaments were either red or green, one was of a can of Spam. After seeing the funny trinket, fans became convinced Grande was sending a subtle shoutout to her boyfriend, Ethan Slater.

So, how is Ariana Grande’s Spam ornament connected to Ethan Slater? Well, the actor is currently starring in the Broadway production of Spamalot. The show is based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It originally debuted on Broadway in 2005. After ending its run at the Shubert Theatre in 2009, Spamalot received a Broadway revival that premiered at the St. James Theatre in November.
Grande has supported her boyfriend by attending a few of his Spamalot performances in New York City. The singer caught a preview of the show on October 31. Weeks later, she also appeared at the show’s opening night on November 16. Grande got all dressed up for the performance by wearing a strapless black gown, sheer gloves, stockings, and pointed heels for the occasion. She also accessorized her outfit with pearl earrings and a small leather bag.
The star posted photos from the show’s opening night on Instagram. Grande looked happy as she attended the performance with her friends and family members. She even posed against a Spamalot backdrop beside her mother, Joan Grande, and best friend, Doug Middlebrook, while holding Spamalot cups.
Grande and Slater have seemingly been dating since July after meeting each other on the set of Wicked. The first part of the film adaptation is set to hit theaters on November 27, 2024.
