Britney Spears shut down some frustrating rumors about her rejoining the music industry on Wednesday evening through an Instagram Post. Lately, fans have been wondering and waiting in anticipation of her return with a whole new album, but according to Britney, she and music are never ever getting back together. Britney shuts down the rumors of a new album, saying they are trash and she will never return. Britney plans to stay behind the scenes, ghostwriting for other people since she enjoys it much more that way.
Britney Spears is Done With Music For Good
According to Britney Spears’ latest Instagram post, she’s pretty fed up with the rumors about her rejoining the music industry and responds accordingly. Wednesday on Page Six, rumors surfaced that the singer was possibly speaking with Charli XCX and Julia Michaels to work on a new album. This would blow our minds, considering Britney hasn’t released a new album in years.
However, she says, “They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry” as the caption under a photo of “Solome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist” by Guido Reni. There’s some pretty heavy symbolism going on here.
Spears admits that she still writes regularly but would much rather do it behind the scenes now. “When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people,” she states, after mentioning that she’s written multiple songs over the past couple of years, none of which we know about.
While Britney Spears still enjoys music and songwriting, she no longer wants recognition for her work and prefers to do it for “fun.” As far as we know, everything has truly been a rumor up to this point about her return, though only time will tell if we will ever see the pop star return to center stage.
