There are eight different ranks in Fortnite, and the higher your rank, the harder it is to get to the next one. The higher your rank, the more experienced players you’ll be matched against, and the better they play. As this happens, you will need to start playing carefully in order to reach the Unreal rank as you progress. If you keep dying and can’t rank up, it’s time to change your approach.

As you climb up the ranks, you won’t always be facing new players inside of mostly bot-filled lobbies, so heed our tips below to help you find success.

Plan Your Attack Before Engage With Enemy

When you see your enemy, don’t shoot until you scope out the situation. For example, if your enemy is not in a completely exposed area and is very close to a building, there is no point in revealing your location by shooting at them. As soon as you shoot, they will immediately hide somewhere and take cover. Taking your time will also prevent you from getting ambushed by a third party.

Pay Attention to the Storm Circle

One of the most important things you must pay attention to is the Storm Circle. This is especially important after the mid-game. When there are between 20 and 15 players in the game, you don’t want to be stuck in a bad storm rotation.

Be sure to activate Forecast Towers when you are close. They will show you what the next Storm Circle will look like, so you can get an advantageous spot before the enemy.

Do Not Rush Into Every Action

The most important thing to learn if you want to reach Unreal rank is not to get involved in every single fight. This is especially important when there are still too many players in the game and fighting frequently and early can diminish your chance of survival.

Knowing when to swoop in and finish off a weakened opponent and scavenge safely can get you into more end-game situations.

Best Loot Route To Reach Unreal Rank in Fortnite Chapter 5

There is a loot route in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 that in my experience is a very good way to become Unreal or to rank up. Follow the steps below to learn this loot route:

  1. First, go down to the location of the NPC called Snow Striker and loot the tents.
  2. Then recruit Snow Striker to your team and he’ll mark the location of enemies for you as you fight them, making you feel like you’re using the Wall Hacks, especially if you’re using a Sniper Rifle.
  3. Then, use the Zipline to go down and break the floor of the small building. This will break all the Slurp Barrels, and you’ll quickly gain 100 Health and 100 Shield.
  4. Then head further down, and you’ll find the Secret Cave. This place is extremely rich in loot, and you’ll be ready for any situation when you get out of here.
