Mary M. Cosby is known for surprising Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers with what comes out of her mouth occasionally. The RHOSLC personality is unapologetically herself and doesn’t fail to speak her mind, to some people’s chagrin. Her latest commentary at the reunion — about her 21-year-old son and his girlfriend (who may be his wife) — left viewers’ jaws on the floor.
Mary Admits She Doesn’t Know If the Two Are Married
When asked by host Andy Cohen whether she’d seen any documents proving her son Robert was married, Mary M. Cosby said she was still waiting to see “paperwork.”
I can’t even say it. I’m like, ‘Get your girlfriend.’ I keep calling her his girlfriend,” Mary replied. “I was steadily telling him, ‘That’s not your wife.'”

Mary also emphasized that Robert is “way too young to be married.” Whether or not the two have legally tied the knot, they have presented challenges as they live with Mary in her Utah home.
When She Overheard The Two Going at It, She Decided to Offer Robert’s Girlfriend Some Advice
In an unaired scene played at the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season four reunion, Mary is in the midst of getting glam when she says that her son is “doing his own thing with his girlfriend.”
When the sounds from the room got louder, it was discernable that the two were enjoying a private moment.
I said, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I said, ‘Don’t make my son think he’s better than he is. Stop doing all that. Stop playing with him. Tell him the truth.”

After the clip played, Mary clarified that the issue isn’t that she thinks Robert is “bad in bed.”
I just told the wife or the girlfriend stop pretending. Because I walked past their room and hear all this noise, all this screaming, and all this dramatic and I’m like, ‘It’s not this serious. Don’t give him a big head and think that he’s this really…’ You know?”

Mary did say that the girlfriend could give her son those props if they were due.
Be true to it. If it’s like that, then … but if it’s not, don’t make him think it is. Don’t be faking it.”

Although she stopped approaching the room when she realized what was going on, Mary “got the point,” though she felt a little “scarred” by the whole thing.
