Indie developer Baron Decay revealed the first trailer for his next survival horror game Yuppy Psycho on his youtube site earlier this evening. The steam greenlight game follows Brian as he begins the first day of his job at a large corporation that has fallen under the curse of a witch.

The trailer shows that Yuppy Psycho will have the same look and feel of Decayโ€™s first project, The Count Lucanor. Inspired by classics like Zelda and Silent Hill, Lucanor explored the horror lurking under the surface of fairytales, containing unique puzzles, exploration and decision making that can affect the plot.

After success with fans and critics alike, it seems that Baron Decay will follow the same formula (if it ainโ€™t broke donโ€™t fix it) with Psycho, as the steam description describes an almost identical features section in regards to gameplay. The page describes the soundtrack will be made by Michael “Garoad” Kelly, as a blend of 90โ€™s western postmodernism that also compliments the anime aesthetic of the game.

The plot certainly does sound straight out of an anime, as the trailer shows snippets of conversations with coworkers turned psychotic as a result of the witch. The game’s title is neat – as a yuppie is defined as a well-paid young middle-class professional who works in a city job and has a luxurious lifestyle – and is unique enough that itโ€™s sure to catch people’s eye.
