Palworld hasn’t even been in the wild for a week, and cheaters have already starting ruining it for everyone. It seems that the developers, Pocketpair, were caught off guard and are scrambling to get things under control. The devs confirmed that these problems were indeed present and that an update for Palworld that aims to remedy the situation is on its way.
An update was launched today, version 0.1.3.0, that does claim to add some countermeasutres against some cheats and exploits. But Pocketpair also mentioned that it is difficult to completely prevent all cheating immediately, meaning it may take a while to get things back to normal.

Palworld Hit By Cheaters – Developers Need To Get An Update Out Fast
Palworld’s launch was very successful to say the least, and seeing the boom in cheating doesn’t come as a shock considering its popularity. The game crossed 8 million sales in six days and also had the second highest concurrent players, losing the top spot to PUBG.
Cheating is a problem, but since Palworld is a PvE game for now, it isn’t too out of hand. But since Pocketpair plans on introducing PvP in the future, these cheats need to be reigned in before players start cheating against each other.
The main reason why cheating is possible is because Palworld seems to handle most things on the client side, which allows people to locally alter the game. To get rid of cheaters, Pocketpair will have to move some of these things to the client side to ensure malefactors can’t cheat anymore.
Although new, Palworld has already become one of the biggest games of 2024, but that also comes with some controversy. Claims have been made that suggest that Palworld has stolen ideas from Pokemon and is a rip-off. But Nintendo is aware of this fact and has said that it will investigate any intellectual property infringement related to Pokemon.
