Cloud Retainer is a recurring character in the Traveler’s adventure in Teyvat, especially in Liyue’s story. Cloud Retainer is a compelling character in Genshin Impact and has gained popularity by revealing her human form, Xianyun, and her new character demo. In Xianyun’s case, her arrival will be for Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact, scheduled to start in February with Liyue’s Lantern Rite 2024.

During the character demo, the Traveler asks his closest friends, who are important figures of Liyue in Genshin Impact, what they think of Xianyun. The first to comment is from Ganyu, someone very close to Cloud Retainer and also a disciple of the heron. Ganyu comments that although Xianyun appears to be serious, she cares about others and has always loved building mechanisms, such as toys for Ganyu when she was a little Qilin. But when the Traveler interviews Shenhe, she mentions that although her teacher enjoys quiet places, Cloud Retainer is also happy to have visitors on her mountain. Another critical point is that these two characters are the ones that will receive their new skins in this same version.
Also, the Genshin Impact’s Geo Archon appears momentarily in this character demo, revealing that Xianyun previously preferred to use her human form more. Zhongli assures the Traveler that he may soon see Cloud Retainer appear without his feathers very soon. This clearly refers to the arrival of Version 4.4 of the game, which will celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year in its Liyue version.
