In expansive open-world experiences like Keen Games’ co-op survival RPG, irksome bugs are bound to rear their ugly head every once in a while. Interestingly, the latest snafu sees the player’s option to craft a Rake completely disappear into thin air. Obviously, this isn’t ideal, especially if you want to till soil and expand into agriculture. So, for those wondering how to get a Rake in Enshrouded, here’s how.
How to Craft a Rake
[Updated on 30 Jan and added a new method of fixing the bug]
In short, to craft a Rake in Enshrouded, you’ll need to head to your Workbench and combine the following ingredients:
- 6 x Wood Logs
- 2 x String
- 2 x Stone
This will create a Rake with a Stamina cost of 2 and a Max Durability of 500. The main purpose of the Rake is to flatten the ground and help with farming.
What Is the Rake Recipe Missing Bug?
The thing is, as alluded to above, there is a bug that is impacting some players where the option to craft a Rake completely disappears. Some players are reporting that the Rake disappeared from their Workbench’s crafting recipes when they hit Level 5.
Meanwhile, others have reportedly never even seen the option to craft a Rake at all. That being said, a few players seem to have dodged the mishap completely on their playthrough. Whatever the case may be, the bug does seem to be affecting a large swathe of the playerbase.
How to Fix the Rake Recipe Missing Bug
Fix #1
From what we can gather, there are two ways that fix the problem. For those impacted by the bug, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- At the main menu, create a new character by clicking on ‘Change’ on the right side of your screen and selecting ‘New Character’
- Enter your world by pressing ‘Play’
- Head back to your base and interact with your Workbench.
- Craft a Rake.
- Store the Rake inside a Chest.
- Back out to the main menu.
- Switch back to your regular character.
- Go back into the world and the Rake will be waiting for you in the Chest.
Fix #2
Another newer fix has been discovered recently (H/T, Reddit user Zylvas):
- From the main menu, enter your world by pressing ‘Play’
- Head over to your Kiln and Forge.
- Make sure that you have space in your inventory and make sure that the Kiln and Forge are empty. If they are not empty, you won’t be able to move the Kiln and Forge.
- Stand close to the Kiln and Forge and hold the E button to pick them up.
- Move the Kiln and Forge to a new spot nearby to your Flame Altar.
- Restart the game completely, and re-enter the world. The Rake should now be available to craft from the Workbench.
Of course, Keen Games has been busy deploying updates to iron out any kinks in the game, so there’s a good chance that this bug will also be patched out soon. The Frankfurt-based studio hasn’t officially addressed the issue, but it should be quite simple to resolve.
