It’s quite normal to find some competition between games of the same genre. However, it is pretty strange to see unhealthy competition or complaints between games of the same developers. This is the situation that Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact are facing because fans of the latter are review-bombing HoYoverse‘s latest game. It would seem that Genshin Impact players are angry due to the recent anniversary gifts, and instead of taking it to the developers, they’ve decided to band together and sabotage the mobile app pages of Honkai Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail is Getting Review Bombed by Genshin Impact Players
We would never condone behavior such as a review bombing, but we can understand the posture of Genshin Impact players to an extent. If you didn’t know, HoYoverse’s most profitable gacha game reached its three-year milestone and gave players three Intertwined Fates to celebrate. These have been some of the worst Genshin Impact anniversary gifts ever. On the other hand, Honkai Star Rail, which won several awards last year, gave players a free 5-star premium character, making it a huge deal for gamers who’ve followed gacha titles made by HoYoverse.
Beyond the gift situation, Genshin Impact players are also review-bombing Honkai Star Rail because the latter gets QoL updates faster. Personally, we believe that both communities should find a common ground and stop harming each other. Genshin Impact has also received a few updates, like the ability to equip recommended gear, which will arrive at Honkai Star Rail when version 2.0 launches. Besides, Genshin has some entertaining permanent game modes, such as the TCG mode, which gets constant updates. Ultimately, both games have great things, and what people need to realize is that if one succeeds, the other will, too. Hopefully, HoYoverse will see both sides and find a solution to this situation to keep gamers from both sides happy.
