Pokemon Go Players Are Disappointed With Underwhelming Shadow Raid Rewards

Prepare for trouble, but don’t make it double.

Just like the actual Team Rocket, Pokemon Go seems to have failed to steal players’ hearts with the latest Shadow Raids featuring Giovanni. If you didn’t know, from January 27 to February 1, 2024, players can find the leader of the most iconic villain group in Pokemon and battle him to capture a Shadow Kyogre. Now, who wouldn’t want this? A powerful legendary shadow creature from the third generation? Sign us up! Or that would be our reaction if this pocket monster weren’t as weak as any other you can find in the wild.

Pokemon Go Players Getting 1-Star Kyogre after Beating Giovanni’s Shadow Raids

Still don't get how these can be 1*

Sadly, this isn’t the first time Pokemon Go players have complained about Shadow Raids, and the latest one featuring Giovanni might be the final nail in the coffin. Trainers worldwide have been attempting to get a good legendary creature just to find out they are getting a 1-star version of it. Now, don’t get us wrong, Shadow Pokemon are great. However, a 1-star after all the investment you have to put into these activities? Nah, we’ll pass.

Furthermore, another thing that angers players is the fact that having Giovanni around isn’t common. This makes sense since he’s the head honcho of Team Rocket. Still, players would love to have better rewards after fighting this iconic character. If not possible, at least have the raid last longer for those who still need to build a good team.

Hopefully, Niantic will listen to its trainers’ dissatisfaction. As much as we know a live service needs to give things in small doses to make us return, this is unforgivable. This mobile title has been out for years, and it has a very supportive community, contrary to others. So, bumping up the rewards a bit couldn’t be bad, or at least give players the chance to obtain creatures as powerful as the ones we find in normal raids.
