Despite dating for months, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have yet to make their red-carpet debut together. Fans hoped they would mark the big milestone at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 4. But as it turns out, the NFL star won’t accompany the singer to the event. Kelce’s absence is for good reason, however. According to TMZ, the football tight end will be busy preparing with the Kansas City Chiefs for the upcoming Super Bowl.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Skipping the 2024 Grammys
The Kansas City Chiefs cemented their spot in the Super Bowl by beating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship on Sunday, Jan. 28. Swift attended the game and made headlines by kissing Kelce on the football field following his team’s win.
Since the pair is no longer shy about showing off PDA to the cameras, fans were crossing their fingers they would attend the 2024 Grammys as a couple. It would have been their first public event together, but sadly, that won’t be happening. Kelce will be skipping the event due to work obligations. According to TMZ, he has a “strict schedule” to follow ahead of the Super Bowl as the Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to go up against the San Francisco 49ers.
The matchup will take place on Sunday, Feb. 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although Swift has a concert in Japan the night before, it’s rumored she’ll still attend the game. She’ll likely catch a flight back to the United States right after finishing her show in Tokyo.
As for the Grammys, sources say the singer will appear at the ceremony, but she won’t be performing.
