Dave the Diver was one of 2023’s biggest indie hits. I mean, what’s more interesting than a sushi chef during the day who needs to dive for his ingredients at night? If you didn’t know, the game was originally meant to be a mobile game, but it exploded in popularity and became the multiplatform hit that we know today. During the State of Play last night, we saw a Dave the Diver trailer announcing its release on PlayStation consoles this coming April. We also learned that Godzilla will be heading towards the Blue Hole the following month in May.
Dave the Diver Is Getting a Godzilla Expansion
From the center of the Blue Hole, a monstrous creature emerges from the depths. The trailer above briefly shows Godzilla fighting against some sort of a giant lobster monster while stomping around the Bancho Sushi restaurant. There was not much information about this besides a May 2024 release, but we are more than excited to see more when the King of Monsters DLC arrives. Hopefully, we’ll get a closer look beforehand because we just want to know if we can participate in kaiju battles of any kind. It’s not a requirement but it would definitely be cool, eh?
As for Dave the Diver itself, you’ll get all of the DualSense controller goodness you could want in its PS5 release. The controller’s haptic feedback will respond differently according to what you’re doing for added immersion. Have you ever wanted to know what it would be like to reel in a digital fish? Well, now you can! If you’ve played the game on PC before, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the same features and gameplay aspects from the comfort of your PS5’s home screen.
Dave the Diver is available now on PC.
