Since Jonathan Majors was found guilty of abuse and harassment, more women, including Maura Hooper and Emma Duncan, have gone public about their experiences with him. This has been in the long line of women coming forward since the March 2023 incident that launched an investigation into his assault and harassment toward Grace Jabbari.
In January, Jonathan Majors did an interview with ABC News on how he had never been physical with the women he had been with (seen below). But his words last month have now been denounced by these latest claims.
The Latest on Jonathan Majors as Two More Women Come Forward About His Abuse
The New York Times has shed more light on the history of violence and harassment toward women from the actor. Two former girlfriends dated the actor before his meteoric rise from HBO’s Lovecraft Country, Creed 3, scoring the role of the MCU’s current baddie, Kang. The ex-girlfriends called him a “controlling, threatening figure who isolated them from friends and career pursuits.”
Between Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, they had dated Jonathan Majors between 2013 and 2019. Duncan said, “You lose your sense of worth” with him. She said she faced emotional and physical abuse. Hooper said he was emotionally abusive.
A lawyer representing the actor, Priya Chaudhry, admitted that the relationships were “toxic.” While denying most of the claims, the attorney admitted he “did say hurtful things.”
One of the projects that propelled him was Lovecraft Country, an adaptation of the Matt Ruff novel of the same name. Multiple women who worked on the show had confrontations with the actor, leading to complaints to HBO.
Currently, sentencing is being waited on. It was set for this month but has been delayed due to last-minute motions from his lawyers. Sentencing has now been set for April 8.
