This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

You might’ve encountered a Transmuter during your road trips on Pacific Drive. This device, which you can only find during your travels, is quite useful and will get you some materials you might’ve not seen when scavenging the zone. However, since every map changes with every run, bringing the right materials and knowing how to use this machine is important. So, if you’re lucky enough to encounter one, you better bring some material and inventory space to bring a good haul back home.

How To Use the Transmuter in Pacific Drive

The Transmuter is a device that allows you to exchange a certain number of materials for another one. However, it is not guaranteed you’ll find this machine in every run. Furthermore, the output of the Transmuter also changes. Sometimes, it’ll give you Scrap Metal, Chemicals, or other materials, so you need to be prepared for any situation.

Before we delve into how to use it, we’ve found two locations where this machine is more likely to spawn:

  • A.R.D.A Trailers
  • Radio Towers

When exploring the map, you should always watch out for these locations. Chances are you’ll find it inside any of the mobile laboratory structures which are called A.R.D.A Trailers or at the top of a Radio Tower.

Once you encounter it, you must interact with it and see what it is asking for. In our case, we found several Transmuters, and both were asking for 10 pieces of Plastic in exchange for new materials. We deposited said pieces of Plastic and got two chemicals. Again, that was during our run, but due to the game’s procedural nature, you might get different materials requirements and rewards from the Transmuter you find in Pacific Drive.

Overall, this is a great device to encounter and one of the luckiest finds in the game. However, you’ll need the required materials first. We recommend scavenging the map first and then returning for the Transmuter. This will allow you to gather enough items to exchange for better ones. And once you do that, get ready to hit the gas and escape to the safety of your garage.
