This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Like other survival games, you will need to build a base to survive the harsh wilderness of the Fae realms. Once you place the Estate Cairns, you can construct whatever structures that you need or want in your camp. However, you may likely change your mind about the placement of various buildings and tools as you progress through the game. That is why we have made this handy guide to explain how you can deconstruct and move structures in Nightingale.

Despite not having a robust splitting stack feature, Nightingale lets you deconstruct or move any structures in your camp. If you want to remove a building that you have not fully built, you can do so via the radial menu. You can access it by holding E on the keyboard or X on the controller.

On the other hand, there are two methods that you can utilize to deconstruct already placed structure. One way to do this is by using a tool and breaking it down by depleting its HP. You can use any equipment on hand, but I usually use the Axe or Pickaxe.

The health of each structure in your camp differs, so it may take a while if you want to deconstruct walls in Nightingale. Don’t forget to keep an eye on your gear’s durability and make sure to repair it before it’s broken.

The proper way to deconstruct and move structures in Nightingale is by utilizing the Building Menu. You can access it by pressing X on the keyboard or the down button on the controller.

Once you are in the Building Menu, you can use these buttons to move structures in Nightingale:

  • Copy – Duplicate a structure – Q (Keyboard) or Y (Controller)
  • Move – Alter the position of a structure – R (Keyboard) or LB (Controller)
  • Remove – Deconstruct a structure – V (Keyboard) or Right stick (Controller)

The game teaches you about the Building Menu in the tutorial section. Sadly, my memory is not very good, and I was four hours into the game before I remembered about this handy feature.

Anyhow, you will regain your materials when you deconstruct a structure in Nightingale. This is great news, so you won’t have to waste your valuable resources, such as Ores. Once you are done with your renovation, you can exit the Building Menu by pressing the same button.
