Kelly Rowland is tired of answering questions about a Destiny’s Child reunion and Beyonce. Recall that Kelly Rowland and Beyonce were part of the musical girl group for nearly two decades — from 1990 to 2006. However, it’s been 18 years since the group disbanded, and Rowland has been focusing on her solo career and personal growth. Most importantly, she is determined to keep the focus on her present endeavors. The singer made it clear recently when she dodged questions about Beyonce and a Destiny’s Child reunion.
Kelly Rowland Dodges Question About a Destiny’s Child Reunion
Kelly Rowland and Beyonce had amazing experiences as members of Destiny’s Child for 16 years. However, that phase is over, and the pair are now focused on their solo careers and being recognized for their individual achievements. Still, questions about Destiny’s Child reunion and Beyonce arise occasionally, and Rowland wishes the public could just focus on her journey post the girl group. Recently, the star had an interview to promote her upcoming movie Mea Culpa and shut down questions about her former band and bandmate. During the chat, one of the co-hosts asked the actress if the other tracks in Beyonce’s upcoming Renaissance II album would be country-based.
In response, Rowland said:
“That is her business to talk about, not mine.”
The second co-host then took things further, excitedly asking the singer about the possibility of a Destiny’s Child reunion. Unfortunately, the response the interviewer got was far from what she would have hoped for.
“Just ask them. I’m here to talk about Mea Culpa and that’s what I’m most excited about right now,” Rowland noted.
Fans Share Mixed Reactions
The Shade Room reposted Rowland’s interview on Instagram, and fans rushed to the comments section with their thoughts. Many supported the singer, calling for interviewers to stop asking her such questions.
“They would never ask Beyonce about what’s on Kelly’s agenda so STOP treating Kelly this way,” a fan commented.
Another follower wrote:
“Dang can she be an individual for a change? You can tell she’s over the s**t.”
A third fan shared:
“I don’t blame her. It’s so disrespectful to her as a darn good artist in her own right.”
A fourth fan with the same sentiments noted:
“Like she is a whole person, her legacy is not Beyonce cmon now.”
On the other hand, some fans had different opinions.
“Is Kelly actually getting beside herself? Love me some Kelly, but girl if your name wasn’t attached to Beyonce, you’d be right along with Latoya and Latavia,” a fan commented.
Another person shared:
“Honestly, I don’t see an issue with them asking about Destiny’s Child, she’s a group member duh they’ll ask.lol.”
Meanwhile, some other fans concluded that Rowland would never come out of Beyonce’s shadow. Whatever the case, Kelly Rowland is obviously tired of the Destiny’s Child and Beyonce questions. Hence, interviewers should do well to avoid asking her such.
