The original two Star Wars: Battlefront titles are returning to modern consoles just in time for the first game’s 20th anniversary. The Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, will include Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront II. It is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox consoles, and Steam on March 14, 2024. The original title was released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004, marking 20 years since it first released. The collection has been ported by Aspyr, the team behind the recent Tomb Raider remasters as well as their long line of Star Wars ports.

STAR WARSâ„¢: Battlefront Classic Collection - Announce Trailer

If you are feeling a little trepidatious about this collection, and how complete it will be, let’s go through everything we know about the upcoming title. Firstly, it will have both online and offline split-screen multiplayer, supporting up to 64 players online. If offline is more your thing, the campaign modes for both games are included. All the bonus maps and characters are also included, so you’ll be able to play as Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto in Battlefront II. There are roughly 50 maps across the two games, like Cloud City and Yavin 4: Arena.

The PlayStation version of the title will come with brand-new trophies, and it’s assumed that the Xbox version will also come with achievements for all you completionists. There is currently no word on whether or not the collection will also have a physical edition. Interestingly enough, the Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster is set to release later this month. At some point, they’ll surely run out of older Star Wars games to port/remaster. May the Force be with you, when the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection releases later next month on March 14, 2024.
