The Redcrosse Surveying Spyglass is an important addition to your toolkit in Nightingale. It can be a bit of a hassle to get your hands on, but it’s great for seeking out the dangers that surround you in any given Realm. Before, you would simply run into danger unknowingly, and if I’m being completely honest, that really isn’t the play; not when you have access to a spyglass anyway. The Redcrosse surveying spyglass is used for scouting out threats among the Fae Wilds, but you’ll have to get a little too close for comfort with those threats before you can get your hands on a spyglass of your own.
Where To Find the Redcrosse Surveying Spyglass
After a while, you’ll be able to just craft the Redcross Surveying Spyglass by yourself in Nightingale, but initially, you need to complete some trials for the NPC in your first Antiquarian Realm. When you speak with your NPC, they’ll give you a quest that will take you across three different trials. Luckily, you only need to complete the first trial in order to get your first Redcrosse Surveying Spyglass.
Your first trial requires you to assess your surroundings. Given that there are loads of Fae Ruins in your first Antiquarian Realm, you’ll need to find the valuable Essences that the Fae have hidden throughout their ruins. Your job is to explore the Fae Ruins and return back to the NPC once you’ve collected at least 25x T1 Essences.
However, you can easily get them by just defeating the various wildlife that road the Realm as well. I’ve had some great success with wolves and deer. Occasionally, boars drop T1 Essences as well when you kill them. However, you must harvest their bodies as well in order to find the Essence.
Get your T1 Essence together, then head back to the NPC to pick up your Redcrosse Surveying Spyglass in Nightingale.
