Upon entering the Rampart mesa in Mortal Kombat 1, you’ll first have to enter the front gate and dominate your way through, until you reach a locked gate. This door requires a certain item to be upon, which is called the Bloody Shield in Mortal Kombat 1. The Bloody Shield is on the top side of the castle of the Rampart mesa in MK1 Invasions mode, hidden in a tower.

The Bloody Shield is obtainable by completing your way to the right side of the Rampart mesa. This route separation happens a bit after you find your first Klue in this area. Then you’ll have the option of going to the right side instead of entering the front gate. This is a long way, and there are several challenges to complete.

Every section you visit must be fulfilled in order to proceed. You’ll also come across a tower before reaching the final destination. So if the first tower didn’t give you the Bloody Shield in MK1 Invasion, don’t be disappointed and keep moving forward like a warrior would do.

In the end, the final/second tower is right across the castle. If you manage to beat the challenges and opponents of this tower, you’ll be rewarded with the Bloody Shield in MK1 Invasion Season 4. Now the worst part? You’ll have to go back to reach that locked gate!

There’s a workaround for travelling less distances on foot in the Rampart and other mesas by using the shop. Press the pause button and choose Shop. This will drop you by one of the Collector’s shops, making it a little easier to travel around.

Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
