The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, allegedly ‘threw a cup of tea’ in anger after a heated exchange with her husband, Prince Harry.
Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully on Sept. 8, 2022, but she was known to have a close bond with Markle before the latter stepped back from the royal family in January 2020. They ceased to undertake duties representing Her Majesty and therefore no longer qualified for financial support.
Tom Bowers’ Book Reveals All
In his tell-all book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, Tom Bower revealed secrets about Meghan Markle’s life in the royal family, especially her relationships with Elizabeth and Harry.
Bower claimed the late Queen was indifferent when Meghan reportedly couldn’t attend Prince Philip’s funeral at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. Harry flew over from the U.S. to be in attendance, but Meghan stayed behind as she was seven months pregnant at the time.
“Thank goodness,” Elizabeth supposedly told her staff after hearing Meghan wouldn’t be joining Harry. The intercontinental couple were accused of “demanding” to be pictured alongside Queen Elizabeth II during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Their request was denied, however, as Bower said: “Festering was their fury that the palace had refused all of their demands for a prominent role at the Jubilee. In Meghan’s view those optics were unsatisfactory, partly because her value to Netflix was to stand near the Queen.”
Bower also claimed that before their departure in 2020, Harry and Meghan were obsessed with scrolling through social media. “According to one report, Meghan allegedly threw a cup of tea into the air,” Tom wrote.
Meghan Had Strict Rules To Follow
He said Meghan Markle became angry with her husband for “searching for snide comments on the internet.” Meanwhile, as Bower reveals in Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, a number of rules were imposed upon Meghan while she was filming her last season of Suits.
Most prominently, Tom said: “Meghan’s last scene at her ‘wedding’ to Mike. No photographs, the Palace ordered, were to be shot of Meghan wearing a wedding dress. Between filming, she was always to wear a jacket over the dress.”
