Sister Wives fans are mourning the loss of one of Kody and Janelle Brown’s children. On March 5, the former couple confirmed the news that their son, 25-year-old Garrison Brown, died by suicide at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The Police Report Shares a Terrible Detail About Garrison’s Death
As TMZ, who broke the news of Garrison’s death, first reported, Flagstaff PD received a 911 call about a “death” at the residence. It was Garrison’s younger brother, Gabriel Brown, who went to Garrison’s house and found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, per the outlet.
Kody and Janelle Issued a Joint Statement About the Family Tragedy
Shortly after the news went public, both Kody and Jenelle — who separated in December 2022 — addressed loved ones and Sister Wives fans with a joint statement shared on each of their social media accounts.
Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Sadly, Garrison and Kody were estranged at the time of his death. The two had yet to mend fences since differences during COVID restrictions led Garrison and Gabriel to move out of the family home.
Sister Wives fans saw the brother speak out about the family strain in the show’s most recent seasons. Janelle shared her concern for them both, noting that Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be.”
In an episode airing in November, Kody shared his perspective on the rift.
I haven’t been in touch with Gabriel and Garrison for quite a while,” he shared.
I’m pretty sad that I’m not close [to them] anymore. There was just so many things in our lives that we did that were rich together, you know, just special experiences. I think and hope that in time we’ll just get over this and that we’ll be safe being back around each other. Right now, there’s not really an open door with Gabe and Garrison. They’re they’re not willing to engage me.”

Garrison’s Family Is Paying Tribute to Him
Merri Brown also posted the family’s announcement, adding, “Garrison, you are loved and will be missed! 💙💙”
Madison, Savanah, and Paedon each shared the announcement on their respective Instagram Stories without further comment. Mykelti did the same, adding, “Love u bro.”
