Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently found themselves under scrutiny again, but this time, the criticism came from an unexpected source — Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith. In an interview, the 53-year-old spoke about the royal family for the first time since Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties. During the chat, Goldsmith slammed Prince Harry for throwing his family under the bus. He also defended Kate against claims she was the royal racist.
Kate Middleton’s Uncle Slams Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Goldsmith isn’t pleased about Prince Harry and Meghan’s treatment of the Royal Family and their roles as senior royals. Before entering the new season of Celebrity Big Brother U.K., Goldsmith criticized the couple’s comments about the Royal Family.
“You can’t throw your family under the bus in such a dramatic style and write books about it and then expect to be invited around for Christmas,” he said, referring to Harry’s memoir, Spare.
However, despite everything that happened, Goldsmith admitted the Duke could be forgiven.
“I think we’re a very forgiving nation. I think everyone will give him a chance again,” he said.
Speaking about Meghan, Kate Middleton’s uncle said her entrance into the Royal Family disrupted everything. He said Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were the perfect trio until the Duchess arrived.
“So Kate, William and Harry they got really comfortable together. And then suddenly, there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think is there, and rewrites history,” Goldsmith explained.
Gary Goldsmith Defends Kate Middleton
Goldsmith also shared his thoughts on Markle’s claims that his niece was racist. Recall that Author Omid Scobie identified Kate as the Royal Family member who asked Meghan and Harry the color of their son Archie’s skin. In the interview, Goldsmith described Kate as a beautiful person on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. He added:
“I’ve got pretty miffed when they had a pop at my beautiful niece who couldn’t say anything for herself.”
Kate Middleton’s uncle further called the Duchess of Sussex’s claims bullshit, saying, “Kate is 100 percent not racist.” Goldsmith thinks his niece is perfect and is hopeful she’ll make a full recovery from her abdominal surgery. With Harry and Meghan still receiving sticks for perceived mistreatment of the Royal Family, one can only wonder how they will handle these issues moving forward.
