The battle to spread managed democracy rages on, and to help us, Super Earth has graced us with new bipedal weapons. The Patriot Exosuit, or Mech as Helldivers 2 players call it, is one of the new stratagems you can unlock to help you during operations. Instead of calling down a missile barrage or an orbital laser, you can call your bipedal vehicle to liberate the galaxy with explosions and gunpowder, as intended. However, you might have to grind a few levels and many requisition slips before acquiring this mechanical beauty.

To unlock your first Mech in Helldivers 2, you must reach level 25 and pay 20,000 requisition slips. After doing so, you can call the vehicle in via a stratagem. So far, it seems to be the most expensive unlockable stratagem in the game, but it is worth it. This mobile weapon includes a machine gun with high armor penetration and a rocket launcher to clear planets from anti-democratic pests. Beyond that, it provides players with much protection while piloting it. However, you might have to be careful not to run into a meteor shower, as one impact can destroy your new toy.

Can You Find Mechs During Missions?

Yes. Many players have reported finding the new exosuits on certain maps, which is great for those who don’t have the level or money to unlock them yet. Here are some of the places where you can get it:

  • Points of Interests (Shown as a question mark on your map).
  • Near Automaton factories.
  • More likely to appear in Automaton planets.

These are just some of the places players have found the new bipedal vehicles, but there are likely more places that hide these destructive weapons. So far, we haven’t seen them spawn in Terminid planets, but we’ll have to explore a bit more before confirming or denying this.

Ultimately, unlocking this mech in Helldivers 2 should be everyone’s top priority. If you are having trouble grinding the currency for it, we recommend gathering a group and trying missions of level seven and above. Finishing any operation of these difficulty levels will provide extra currency and experience points as a reward. So, grab your favorite weapons and your most destructive stratagems to unlock this mobile arsenal.
