The drama surrounding Rick Ross‘s $3m wristwatch has reached new heights. Recall that earlier this week, watch expert Nico Leonard publicly questioned the authenticity of the rapper’s timepiece. Taking to social media, Leonard claimed there was only one of that luxurious accessory in the world, thus accusing Rick Ross of flaunting a fake wristwatch. The dispute gained traction in no time, forcing the rapper to address the allegations head-on.
Leonard Calls Rick Ross’s $3m Wristwatch Fake
Rick Ross is no stranger to flaunting the fruits of his success, but according to Leonard, not all of them are genuine. On March 4, the expert took to Instagram to call out Rick Ross over his $3m wristwatch — an emerald Audemars Piguet. Leonard said there were only a couple of these watches in the world, and sadly, the rapper’s own wasn’t one of them.
“Rick Ross bro, I just made a video about your insane green AP. Unfortunately, it’s fake. Why are you flaunting fake watches? There’s only one of these watches in the world at $41m. Then there’s another one at $37m,” he said.
Leonard further said more were likely to come out in the future before emphasizing that there was only one in the world, due to the difficulty of finding the stones. He then shared an image of what he claimed was the real thing, sent to him by the watch’s owner.
“That’s the real deal, and you have a fake. The real owner sent me this photo and you have a fake watch… I thought you had to be an example for the youth etc. Mate, load of balls, get your act together. This is pathetic,” he concluded.
Two days later, Leonard posted an up-close picture of the “real watch,” captioning it:
“@richforever, This is how a REAL Royal Oak Looks like.”
Rick Ross Claps Back at Leonard
On Monday, Rick Ross finally responded to Leonard’s claims. Taking to his Instagram stories, the 48-year-old mocked the watch expert’s weight.
“For the little fat guy in the one-cubicle office speaking on watches, speaking on Rick Ross and his Audemars, it’s unbelievable isn’t it, fat guy? Little piglet,” Rick Ross said.
The rapper went on to say that Leonard probably thought it would be hard for a Black man to get such a rare timepiece. However, Rick Ross described it as a simple feat for a boss.
“Now stay out of grown folks’ business, little piglet. You on Rozay d**k,” he said.
Rick Ross ended the video on a solid note, giving fans a tour of his luxury car collection. Fans wait to see if Leonard will respond to Rick Ross’s clap back.
