Fire Emblem Heroes released on mobile devices just a few days ago. By now everyone with Internet access has probably heard of the astounding number of hours and tears players have put into restarting their games to acquire an army of maximum-powered super soldiers (and waifus). Well, Nintendo is leading those players – and everyone else who plays Fire Emblem Heroes – a helping hand by releasing five additional downloadable maps to play. These maps will be distributed one at a time up until March 14, 2017, and clearing them will net the victor a few Orbs to use for summoning.
The first map is available right now and, like all the bonus maps, will be up right until the end date, so there’s no particular rush to download it. The next one will drop on February 13, followed by number three on February 20. The final two will begin distribution on February 27 and March 6. Map number one features Robin and a pair of archers named Gordin and Jeorge, plus spearman Oboro. Beating this map also allows players to acquire Village Hero Donnel. Unfortunately, poor Donnel won’t come any stronger than a 2-star rating at most.

Let’s face it, though: Fire Emblem Heroes revolves around a sun named “Orbs.” The real reason to play these maps is for said Orbs. Beating a map on Normal difficulty will score you three of them. Besting the enemies again on Hard mode nets another trio, for a total maximum of six per map. With five different maps, that’s a gain of 30, enough for around eight summons. Now if only there were a way to make snagging your five-star waifu less of a roulette.
Fire Emblem Heroes is free to play, with limited moves determined by a stamina meter and optional microtransactions. Many of which involve, you guessed it, Orbs. But while you’re waiting for that stamina meter, why not check out The Nerd Stash‘s other great articles? We promise not to charge you.
