How To Find (& Kill) Shriekers in Helldivers 2

The unthinkable has happened: Shriekers have made their way into Helldivers 2, and these pesky little buggers need to be put down with a swift, democratic boot, preferably in the most violent way possible. It was already a nightmare dealing with Bile Titans and Chargers, but now we must look to the skies for flying Terminid? Sweet Liberty! If only there were brave soldiers willing to learn how to find and kill Shriekers in Helldivers 2. Oh wait, that must be you!

Where To Find Shriekers in Helldivers 2

In Helldivers 2, Shriekers seemingly only appear on Hard difficulty and higher on planets with Terminids. I haven’t had much luck finding them on anything lower. They spawn in a similar fashion to Stalkers, as in you’ll never know if Shriekers are on the planet unless you land and (hopefully) find their Shrieker Nest.

On the bright side, a Shrieker Nest is a lot easier to stumble across than a Stalker Nest. They’re rather large compared to a Stalker Nest, resembling the big Spore Spewers. To tell the difference, Shrieker Nests have more than one mushroom-like structure.

How To Kill Shriekers in Helldivers 2

As for hunting and killing Shriekers in Helldivers 2, it’s as simple as a well-placed shot. That’s easier said than done, but it’s true. They’re rather squishy, but that doesn’t mean you should underestimate them. Though weak, Shriekers have the potential to kill you in a single hit, especially if you’re wearing light armor.

To avoid an early grave, you can approach them in one of three ways:

• Sniping the Shriekers from a distance
• Shooting them down with an automatic weapon
• Using a gun with a large spread, like a shotgun

The Shrieker Nest itself is an entirely different matter. It’ll spawn more Shriekers, like any nest would, unless you get close enough to use a Stratagem. Luckily, you’re actually provided a Hellbomb if you get close enough, but I opted for a simple Eagle Airstrike and or Eagle 500kg bomb.
