Roleplaying is occasionally underappreciated in modern RPGs, but with a solid character creator, the world’s your oyster. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the character creator is not as wacky as some results you see in Street Fighter 6. However, you’ll be impressed by the depth of opportunities to create your favorite fictional characters. Here are famous characters created in Dragon’s Dogma 2 which were especially noteworthy!
1. Obligatory Guts Characters Aplenty
I count myself among the many who created a Guts-like character. However, as I wanted to start as a mage, I tweaked his appearance slightly and named him Gore. Other players were more overt with their designs, and they’re welcome! It’s to be expected, especially since the Warrior class lets you wield greatswords. This helps tie over players waiting for the next chapter.
For extra fun (?) I created a pawn that’s essentially Dollar Tree Casca, so naturally I named her Cassia. I guarantee Cassia will have a better life, no matter what happens in your playthrough.
2. Some Fresh Trauma for Fullmetal Alchemist Fans
Do you know Nina, the character whose horrifying transformation into a chimera is one of the most talked-about moments FMA? You can recreate her to a certain degree as a Beastren, and it’s nightmare fuel. Shou, your creation haunts us once more in this game, and poor Nina deserved better.
3. Conjunction of the Spheres Brings Geralt to Vernworth
It’s our favorite gruff, grimed-up monster hunter in a universe that fits him perfectly! Geralt of Rivia has quickly been a popular choice among Dragon’s Dogma 2 fans using the character creator to make famous characters. From his scarring to his long silver locks, he’ll be an excellent Fighter.
4. PS3-Era Kratos Takes a Stab in a New Universe as the Arisen
Not satisfied with Greek or Norse mythology, Kratos is reborn and his scars are amusingly appropriate here. He’s no stranger to taking down wildly huge beasts of lore. His twin Blades of Chaos would be oddly fitting for a Thief. However, he’s got the heart of a Warrior and the versatility of a Mystic Spearhand, so who’s to say what his true role should be?
5. 2B Enters the 2024 Game of the YoRHa Contender
One of the coolest famous characters you can create easily in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is 2B from NieR. Given her relatively simple humanoid design, it’s not out of the realm of reason, and players have been quick to mod in the appropriate extra touches. However, dodge-rolling isn’t quite the same game in DD2, unfortunately.
6. Pinhead Has Such Sights to Show You!
Hellraiser simply doesn’t get nearly enough love from the mainstream, something it’s had in common with Dragon’s Dogma. Despite having a cult status, the series spawned a ton of sequels so maybe DD is on a similar path. However, Pinhead roleplayers might be disappointed by how easily he can get rag-dolled or thrown across chasms to drop ladders. So with that in mind, maybe don’t make him a pawn.
7. Bully Maguire is on the Prowl
The Thief or Trickster are among the more suitable options here because Bully Maguire is here to steal your girl. Ripped from his endlessly memed-on appearances in Spider-Man 3, this is based on Peter Parker’s baffling emo phase. Sadly no finger guns are included in the base game, at least not yet.
8. I’m the Arisen, Waltuh
Seemingly looking like he was fished out of the river or perhaps out of a nondescript barrel (spoilers?) Mike Ehrmantraut is a popular choice. He’s one of the most popular famous characters jumping from memes to character creators like in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you take him on as a pawn, make sure he gets the right cut in the form of a good gift!
Bonus: The Sky’s the Limit
With choices including skin pigmentation, scars, tattoos, and facial shape galore, the sky truly is the limit. It’s especially fascinating when trying to assign their most appropriate starting class. Famous characters spanning across movies, TV shows, and video games all appear in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
This speaks to the enormous flexibility and fun factor of the Character Creator feature. It’s merely one of the latest viral trends showcased by the RE Engine and a strong case for its perplexing appeal.
