The dream support for Yoimiya, as well as a must-have for all looking to add a lot of weight to their DPS’s normal attacks, Yun Jin earned her spot as one of the best offensive supports in Genshin Impact. But just like any great opera needs to have a perfect balance of emotion and discipline, you will need a perfectly in-sync build and team for her to perform at her best. Here’s the best Yun Jin build in Genshin Impact, as well as a few teams sure to allow her to play her part perfectly.
- Table of Contents:
The Best Yun Jin Build in Genshin Impact: About Our Build
As Yun Jin’s biggest strength and the cornerstone of her kit lies in her ability to massively enhance the Normal Attacks of your whole party based on her overall Defense —a feat she can accomplish by performing her Elemental Burst Cliffbreaker’s Banner— our build, which I like to call Perfect Sync, will be focused on increasing both her Defense and Energy Recharge to the max.
Although not a necessity, those looking to use Yun Jin in the late game should prioritize getting her second constellation (Myriad Mise-En-Scène). Once unlocked, the constellation will allow her to also buff the NA of all party members by 15% after performing Cliffbreaker’s Banner. Even if not a priority, getting her to C6 will also massively enhance your DPS by adding a 12% ATK Speed increase to the mix.
The Best Artifacts for Yun Jin
The best artifact set for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact is a 4-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams. The full set is my main pick for her given its ability to offer a 30% increase in Defense, all while also allowing her to get a extra boost of up to 24% in both DEF and Geo DMG by stacking Curiosity stacks (6% per stack).
When on the field, you will gain 1 stack per Geo hit within a 0.3-second interval. When off the field, you will automatically gain 1 Curiosity stack every 3 seconds (max of 4 stacks).
Best Alternatives
For those still in the process of getting the set above, my main pick for Yun Jin is a mixed set featuring a 2-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams and a 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate. This is my main pick as Emblem of Severed Fate’s 15% Energy Recharge increase will pair perfectly with the 30% increase in DEF offered by the 2-piece Husk.
Using a 2-piece Defender’s Will paired with either of the above sets can also work given its 30% DEF increase, although using the set will come at the cost of having lower stat caps for at least 2 of your pieces. You can check out how to get all of the mentioned artifact sets below:
Artifact Set | How to Acquire |
---|---|
Husk of Opulent Dreams (Top Pick) | Can be acquired by either completing the Slumbering Court Domain, located on Seirai Island, or by using its Artifact Strongbox. |
Emblem of Severed Fate | Can be acquired by completing Yashiori Island’s Momiji-Dyed Court domain, as well as by using its Artifact Strongbox. |
Defender’s Will | Can be acquired by completing the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula, Peak of Vindagnyr (one time only), and Slumbering Court domains. It’s a common drop. |
Best Main and Sub-Stats
As Defense is the name of the game for Yun Jin, I recommend that you go with a DEF% Sands of Eon, a DEF or ER% Goblet of Eonothem, and a DEF% Circlet of Logos. Only use the Energy Recharge goblet if you fail to reach the 170%+ threshold with only substats and your weapon. For substats, I recommend that you focus solely on Energy Recharge and Defense.
Keep in mind that reaching the ER threshold mentioned above is a must. Ideally, Yun Jin needs to be able to use her Elemental Burst at every rotation.
The Best Weapons for Yun Jin
The best weapon for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact is the Raiden Shogun‘s featured polearm, Engulfing Lightning. Once equipped at level 90, the weapon will provide her with a 55.1% increase in Energy Recharge, while also allowing you to boost this value by 30% (to a total of 85.1%) by performing her Elemental Burst.
The Best 4-Star and F2P Weapons for Yun Jin
As our build will forget about her overall DMG and put all of our chips on increasing her Burst availability and NA buff, the best alternative weapons for Yun Jin will be the craftable 4-star Prototype Starglitter and the free-to-acquire The Catch. The reason why the weapons are my main secondary picks is simple, they will both offer a great deal of Energy Recharge.
From the two, I recommend the use of the Prototype Starglitter given how the difference in performance between them will be negligible and the polearm looks way better on Yun Jin. You can forge the weapon in exchange for 1x Northlander Polearm Billet, 50x Crystal Chunks, 50x White Iron Chunks, and 500 Mora.
Using the Favonius Lance can also work well, but keep in mind that unless you invest in CRIT Rate, Yun Jin won’t be able to score many crits and trigger its passive. You can counter that by refining it to at least R3 to increase the probability of your attacks triggering the effect. To recap, here are the four best weapons for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact:
Best Weapons for Yun Jin | Main Stat |
---|---|
1. Engulfing Lightning (Premier pick) | Energy Recharge |
2. Prototype Starglitter | Energy Recharge |
3. The Catch | Energy Recharge |
4. Favonius Lance (R3+) | Energy Recharge |
The Best Teams for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact
Similarly to the Lord of Geo himself, Yun Jin is a great pick for most teams given her ability to perform multiple roles. Among the best teams for her, however, and as we mentioned earlier, none can hold a candle to those featuring Yoimiya. When under the effect of Yun Jin’s Flying Cloud Flag Formation and while in her Niwabi Enshou state, Yoimiya becomes capable of dealing Hu Tao levels of damage without even Vaporizing.
As a Noelle fan, I also love using Yun Jin in the team composition featured in the image above, which also has Albedo as a Sub-DPS/battery and Gorou as a great overall support. To recap, here are a few teams sure to bring out the best in Yun Jin, as well as a great Ayato alternative:
- Yoimiya + Yun Jin + Xingqiu/Yelan + Zhongli/Albedo (Overall Best)
- Ayato + Yun Jin + Bennett + Zhongli
- Noelle + Albedo + Gorou + Yun Jin
You can play Genshin Impact on PS5, PS4, PC, and mobile devices.
