In this game, we are astronauts sent to terraform a planet to make it abundant in vegetation and suitable for more people to live on. Luckily for us, this planet is prosperous regarding resources that allow us to craft all kinds of gadgets and machines to fulfill our mission to make the place hospitable. Besides creating, in Planet Crafter, reusing and taking advantage of what we have around us is just as important, which you can achieve with deconstruct. In addition to the available minerals, you can use objects left by other explorers and ships that could not continue their course. So, mastering the deconstruct feature is a crucial part of your strategy.

At the beginning of the game, your escape capsule will be your only safe place because it brings an inexhaustible supply of oxygen while you explore the area. It also contains the crafting machine for your equipment and upgrades, including the deconstruct blueprints. To create the Deconstruct in Planet Crafter, you need x1 Silicon and x1 Magnesium. Once created, you can equip this upgrade from your inventory. To use deconstruct, you must change the mode of your primary tool with your mouse’s scroll; the logo is a tilted hammer with a cross. Point at what you want to destroy and click; the object will dissolve before your eyes.

All the materials that make up the objects you destroy will go into your inventory, even items and machines that you didn’t build. That’s why the Deconstruct is so helpful, since in the game, there are several crashed ships full of old computers or machines that you can turn into something new. You can also absorb the blue gearboxes you find around the map and get materials such as iron from them. So remember to use the available resources to modify the planet’s environment and make it less hostile for more people.
