Prince William and Prince Harry may resolve their differences and reunite at the upcoming Invictus Games anniversary but King Charles has a big role to play in making it possible. The rift between the royal brothers has reverberated through the UK and the media at large for years. While picking out a villain in this has proven tricky, it remains a fact that regardless of who has the most blame, the royal family needs to stand united now more than ever.
King Charles Hopes to Reunite Sons Prince William and Prince Harry
A window of opportunity to foster this reunion is on the horizon. The Duke of Sussex is set to return to the UK on May 8, to honor the tenth anniversary of his Invictus Games organization. Insiders confirm that the King is determined to harness this opportunity to the fullest, to restore harmony in his family. Former royal butler Grant Harrold disclosed that the brothers Prince Harry and William are likely to reunite this year with King Charles playing the peacemaker. He divulged to Sky News,
“It is very likely that Harry and William will see each other next month and anything is possible. The King will want the brothers to patch things up so it’s more than likely that he could play peacemaker.”
Ahead of the Invictus Games organization’s 10th anniversary, which will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral, King Charles reportedly extended an olive branch to his youngest son, Prince Harry. The father-son duo will meet in the first week of May when the Sussexes arrive in the UK. The need for reconciliation is more pressing, especially in the wake of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
Additionally, Kate’s cancer battle and Prince William’s dedication to her recovery have left most of the senior royals on their toes trying to make up for their absence. Having a son, and a sibling to lean on at these crucial times is simply priceless. Hence, the King’s effort to reunite Prince William and Prince Harry certainly has its perks.
Meghan Positions Herself as a Deciding Factor
This comes days after a source revealed Prince William and Kate Middleton were looking to reconnect with Harry and Meghan Markle upon their arrival in the UK for the anniversary of the Invictus Games organization. Insiders also reveal that the Wales royals even extended the invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s kids if they did attend the event in May.
While Prince Harry’s arrival is a done deal, especially with his status as the founder of the Invictus Games, his wife Meghan’s presence remains uncertain. Initial reports claim the duo would expect to arrive in the UK together in May. However, insiders revealed the Duchess of Sussex was nervous and frantic about the UK trip.
Her eventual decision most likely would determine whether or not Archie and Lilibeth get to honor the UK invitation, and the opportunity to unite with their extended royal family. As the day of reckoning draws nearer, one can only hope King Charles’ game plan to reunite his sons, Prince Harry and William, is fireproof.
