Prince William has lived his entire life knowing that one day he would be King. For many of his 41 years, this has seemed like a far-away prospect. However, the reality of being the future of the monarchy is closer than it’s ever been. William has seen increased work as the Prince of Wales. While he’s managing the new role while coping with both his wife’s and father’s illnesses, he’s also experiencing anxiety over what’s to come.
William Already Feels His Plate Is Full
Prince William is facing a very difficult time right now. He’s being forced to step up both at home and as a royal as King Charles and Princess Catherine (Kate Middleton) battle cancer. The situation was entirely unpredictable, but it is understandably causing the Prince and Princess of Wales some stress. Royal reporter and former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Tina Brown opened up about the situation to The New York Times.
The almost simultaneous news of Charles’ cancer has put William and Catherine in frightening proximity to ascending the throne just when they had hoped for a span of years to parent their children out of the public eye. The prospect of it, I am told, is causing them intense anxiety.

Whether they will be able to face it with her commitment to service remains unseen, but with a lot of uncertainty in the young family’s future, royal fans are rooting for more stability before their time comes.
