Given how resources do not respawn in The Planet Crafter, very few things will be as vital during your endeavor of turning a wasteland into a habitable paradise as a few well-placed Ore Extractors —which will allow you to easily farm materials directly from underground. But as you might expect, the structure will not be unlocked from the get-go. Here’s how to unlock all of the versions of the Ore Extractor in The Planet Crafter, as well as how to use them.

You can unlock the first Ore Extractor (also known as the T1 Ore Extractor) in The Planet Crafter by reaching a Pressure value of 155 μPa. I was able to reach the value relatively fast by unlocking the Drill T3 and then waiting for around 30 minutes after building 4 of them.

After unlocking the first one, you will be able to unlock the T2 and T3 Ore Extractors by reaching the Pressure values of 364,50 mPa and 13,33 Pa respectively. You can check out the materials you will need to craft each of the Ore Extractor variants featured in The Planet Crafter below:

How to Use the Ore Extractors and Which Ores Can Each of Them Mine

You can use Ore Extractors in The Planet Crafter by simply building them in the areas you wish to mine. While the Ore Extractor T1 will only be able to mine early-game ores, the T2 and T3 versions will get access to all of the ones available in the game. You can check out which ores each of the Ore Extractor models can farm below:

  • T1 Ore Extractor: Cobalt, Iron, Magnesium, Silicon, Titanium, Aluminium, Sulfur, and Iridium.
  • T2 and T3 Ore Extractors: All of the above, plus Uranium, Super Alloy, Osmiumm, Zeonite, and Obsidian,

From all of the materials above, Aluminium, Sulfur, Iridium, Obsidian, Osmiumm, Super Alloy, Uranium, and Zeolite can only be mined by building the extractor on either select caves or within biomes featuring them.

You can play The Planet Crafter right now on PC.
