Fortnite Players Can Now Hide Salty Emotes in the Game

No more rage quits, I guess…

Watching your opponent taunt you with toxic emotes after you’ve been killed in Fortnite to provoke you can be incredibly irritating (but a lot of fun if you’re the one doing it). There are some emotes in particular that can really make you bite your keyboard like Whipcrack, Make it Plantain, and Laugh It Up. However, the good news for players who complain about this situation is that you can now disable these toxic emotes. When another player uses these “Confrontational” emotes in Fortnite, you won’t see or hear them.

You Can Now Disable Confrontational Emotes in Fortnite

Many players believe that Disney might had a major role in Epic Games’ decision. The age restrictions we’ve seen recently are proof that Disney and Epic Games are trying to make Fortnite suitable for all ages. Currently, the only “Confrontational Emotes” are Laugh It Up, Take the L, Whipcrack and Make It Plantain.

If you can’t stand your enemy using these emotes after you die, this is good news for you. However, many players also reacted quite negatively to this decision. The reason for this is obvious, these players paid V-Bucks for these emotes back in the day, but now many players will no longer be able to see these emotes in action.

There are currently four emotes in this category, but there may be more over time. I wasn’t using these emotes, but I hope the emotes that I use to drive my opponents crazy won’t fall under this category.

How To Enable / Disable Confrontational Emotes Option in Fortnite

The reason why many players are negative about this change is that this setting was added directly to the game with enabled. So if you want to see these salty emotes in the game, you should turn off the “Confrontational Emotes” in the settings.

  1. After launching Fortnite, click on your avatar at the top right.
  2. Then click on the settings icon below.
  3. From the menu at the top, select “Account and Privacy” on the far right.
  4. At the bottom of the “Social Privacy” section, adjust the “See Confrontational Emotes” option to your liking.
