Demon Piece is only the latest in a long line of One Piece-inspired Roblox games like King Legacy and Blox Fruits. That doesn’t stop it from being any less fun; in fact, it can be quite forgiving with its combat, and there are nowhere near as many levels to grind. If you’ve never experienced an RPG like Demon Piece and need someone to guide you through its mechanics, we’ve got you covered.

Demon Piece Beginners Guide: The Basics

If you’ve played any number of One Piece-themed Roblox games, the gameplay plays out pretty much the same way. But if you’ve never touched one before, just keep in mind that Demon Piece is an RPG, and it features:

  • Leveling up
  • Quests
  • Combat (Fruits, Weapons, Guns, and Fighting Styles)
  • Always-on PVP and PVE
  • Factions
  • Boats

Essentially, you sail from island to island, completing quests, fighting bosses, leveling up, and getting stronger along the way. You might encounter other players, which can lead to PVP battles, though you’re more than welcome to ignore it.

Demon Piece: Understanding Combat and Dying

Combat in Demon Piece is straightforward: you equip your style of combat and start whacking your target. Of course, just running in is a surefire way of dying really fast, so it’s best to practice what I like to call “jousting.” It’s when you get close to your target, attack them, then dash back with Q. However, if you’re using a ranged weapon, like a gun or fruit, you can simply kite.

Since there’s no block mechanic, you’ll be relying a lot on your dash. As long as you have stamina (that’s the blue bar below your health), you can keep dashing to your heart’s content. It costs 10 stamina to dash, which you can increase by adding points to your Strength stat.

Your first few encounters will likely lead to your death, in which case you’ll respawn. Where you respawn is based on where you set your spawn point. On every island, right at the port, there is an NPC you can speak with that will put your spawn point for that island. It’s the first thing you should do when reaching a new island, so make a habit of that, or else you’ll respawn at the last island.

Master Your Weapon, Master Yourself

Regardless of your choice of weapon, whether it’s your fists or Demon Fruit, every combat style has Mastery. This is a separate experience bar from your character level, and you’ll only gain experience after defeating an enemy with your preferred weapon, not just by using it.

For example, if I were to weaken an enemy with the Cutlass, only to finish them off with the Flintlock, I’m only getting Mastery experience for the Flintlock. With enough experience gained, you’ll unlock new abilities unique to that weapon.

It’d be nice to get experience for both, but this actually opens up an opportunity. When you get a new upgrade, it isn’t quite ready to replace your old one because you’ll have unlocked every ability. So, what you do is use your old weapon, then finish your target off with your new one!

Leveling Up: Best Method For Grinding Experience in Demon Piece

completing quests is the best way to earn experience in demon piece

Combat is the main focus of Demon Piece, and so is leveling up. Every enemy you disintegrate into dust will give you experience, as does completing quests. When you gain a level, you’ll get three points to allocate to your stats. This begs the question: What’s the best way to grind experience? One word — quests.

Questing dumps a lot of experience on you, and they’re almost always “kill x amount of y enemies.” Every island has an NPC with a kill quest, and it’s always the natives of the island and, eventually, a major boss.

The best part is that quests are repeatable, so you can bounce back and forth until the next island is available. Throw in a few Demon Piece codes, and you can easily gain a few dozen levels in less than an hour.

Traveling Between Islands

Speaking of islands, at some point, you’ll need to set sail and move to the next island. The enemies and quests you’re completing eventually offer too little for your level. Every couple of levels, a new quest will become available, which you can track using the compass on the left.

Once you’re tracking the next NPC quest giver, it’s time to set sail. At the dock of every island, there’s a Boat Seller NPC you can speak with that’ll sell you boats of varying speeds and prices:

BoatSpeedPrice
Rowboat35500 Beli
Sailboat501,500 Beli
Caravel7030,000 Beli
Galleon70100,000 Beli
Coffin Boat90Gamepass
Striker120Gamepass

Here’s the problem: boats can be destroyed and taken by other players; in fact, it happens often. If I were you, I would never buy anything above a sailboat. It’s very cheap and plenty fast to get you between islands.

Where To Get Demon Fruit in Demon Piece

Being inspired by One Piece, it’s no surprise that Demon Piece has Devil Fruit too or, in this case, “demon fruit.” In addition to weapons and fisticuffs, you can gain superpowers from eating fruit, which are broken up by rarity. The fruit of the highest rarity tends to be the best fruit in Demon Piece, too.

You can obtain fruit in one of two ways: on the ground every 45 minutes or from the Demon Fruit Shop. There’s a Demon Fruit Shop on every island, and their stock refreshes every 4 hours. If there’s a specific Demon Fruit you’re after, the shop is the best bet. Here’s what you can find in the game and at the shop:

Demon Piece: What Are Races? Explained

Another customizable aspect of your character is its race. Although you don’t have a choice to choose it, you can change it through the use of an Essence Orb. There are seven races in all:

  • Human: Provides no bonuses nor disadvantages.
  • Skypian: +1 Geppo and can jump higher.
  • Fishman: Allows you to swim faster in water and ignore damage if you’ve used a Demon Fruit.
  • Mink: Increases stamina and movement speed by 15%.
  • Oni: You gain a 10% resistance to Fighting Style and Sword damage.
  • Cyborg: Your damage is increased by 5% across the board.
  • Lumerian: You’re immune to fire damage. Basic attacks can cause a burn debuff and also deal twice as much burn damage.

If you want to reroll your race, you can get a free one as a daily login reward or farm them from the Sand Dragon and Thunder God bosses in Sandora and Skypiea, respectively.

Demon Piece: What in the World is Haki?

Fresh, the Armament Haki trainer

Finally, you have Haki, which is arguably the least fleshed-out mechanic in Demon Piece and you won’t really worry about them until you’re much further into the game. Hakis are essentially very strong passive abilities of which there are only two:

  • Ken Haki: Allows you to dodge most attacks, though powerful abilities like Tsunami can break it.
  • Armament Haki: Increases the amount of damage you do up to 35% and lets you hit Logia users.

You won’t be able to learn the Ken Haki until you’re at least level 240, whereas the Armament Haki can be learned as early as level 100. The Ken Haki Trainer is on Sandora Island and the Armament Haki Trainer is on Jungle Island.
